First time crabbing. This was an excellent class for learning how to cast, snares, bait, and how to reel in your snare so not to lose your catch. Lawrence was a fantastic instructor, patient, happy and willing to share what he knows about crabbing.
Happy to recommend him to anyone new to crabbing. Looking forward to taking other classes he has on surf crabbing and fishing.
Signed up myself and two sons, and we all had fun. We kept very busy reeling in crabs. Most weren't keepers, but that's fishing. Still had an excellent time. Lawrence didn't tell us what to do, he taught. us how to do it. Taught us a few things about cleaning and cooking them. It came out delicious. We also learned how to stay legal and facts about the species we were catching. His snares worked perfectly. Enjoyed everything about the experience and the three of us hope to do it again
Lawrence makes crabbing easy! Between his relaxed and thorough teaching style and the quality gear he provides, he really sets you up for success. Within an hour of my first cast I was feeling confident enough in my new snaring skills to start daydreaming about planning crabbing trips of my own!
My husband and I met Lawrence in July at a fishing event at unfortunately lost his card. This January we stumbled upon him again! I had been bugging my hubby since July about going crabbing with that 1 guy lol. When we saw him in Sacramento we had to get a chance to talk with him. Lawrence showed us a flyer about the San Francisco crab and cook. I wasn’t going to miss out this time! We booked with him the next week. The weather was great, we had a family of 3 in our group. The day couldn’t have been better. He explained everything and was so patient to answer all our questions. Helping everyone to cast correctly or casting for some of us to get our bait in a better spot! After all of that he cooked for us too! Nothing better than eating crab straight from the ocean that you caught. A dream come true. Such a fun day, we are planning our next trip with Lawrence.
My parents and I had a an amazing time on a crabbing tour through Durasnare!! Lawrence was a very patient and knowledgeable instructor, breaking down every step of crabbing so it was easy to understand and grasp even just within an hour or so of learning. He would also provide gentle guidance as we went that allowed our small group of 5 people to catch over a dozen crabs! It also helps that afterwards you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor with a delicious crab lunch. As someone with little to no fishing experience (and no previous crabbing experience), this experience definitely blew my expectations out of the water and I'd definitely recommend this unique tour for locals and visitors alike!
